EMCC 2020

Relationships in a world of conflict

Loving God, your neighbour, yourself, your enemy

We regret to inform you that EMCC is cancelled due to the Corona Virus.  Please click here to see an update.

The world seems to be increasingly polarised, with relationships characterised by animosity and divisiveness even in the church and mission.

How do we embrace and foster authentically loving and sacrificial relationships in our teams and communities?

Our Bible studies in Romans 12 will inform our thinking on crucial relationships such as team, church, family, agency, spouse, nationals, persecutors, leaders and God as we see to share the gospel with others not only in what we do and say, but in who we are and how we live.

Dates: 16th – 19th March 2020

Location: Casa Diocesana, Málaga, Spain

We’re delighted to announce that our Bible readings will be led by Jonathan Ward of Pierres Vivantes, and that our plenary speakers include:

Harry Hoffman (Global Member Care Network) on Loving God

Mihai Lundell (OCI) on Loving Your Neighbour

Dorcas Harbin (One Another Ministries International) on Loving Yourself

Ian Orton on Loving Your Enemy

Your can read more about our plenary speakers here.

In a change from our previous practice we are significantly increasing the number of workshops and among our confirmed workshop leaders are: Mathilde Companjen, Alex Galloway, John Harris, Tim Herbert, Marion Knell, Margreet Korstanje, Tammy Lundell, Rafael Nastase, Christian Quartier, Maryann Richard, Gisela Roth and Amrei Wehmeyer.  Follow these links to read speaker biographies and plenary and workshop synopses.  You can also see the timetable.  You can register for workshops here.

The cost of attending EMCC2020 will be:

  • €435 (single room)
  • €405 (twin room)
  • €330* (day guest for all four days including lunch and dinner)
  • €280 special day rate for Spanish citizens (no early bird discount available on this rate)

There will be a discount of €50 for couples sharing a twin room.

* We recognise that this fee has increased substantially since 2018, but that is because we did not charge conference fees for day guests in 2018 because we were in Spain for the first time and we wanted to make the consultation accessible.

Please read our terms and conditions before placing your booking.

Want some rest and prayer before EMCC?  We’d like to draw your attention to a day retreat being led by Annieke van Dijk and Margreet Korstanje on the Monday of EMCC for those of you who want to arrive a day early and experience some peace and reflection.  You can read more about that here.  You will be able to book through the EMCC booking system.

We have produced a brochure advertising EMCC2020.  We would be grateful if you would print it off and use it at conferences to let people know about this important event.

For those people who would like to attend but are on a limited budget, particularly if they have not been to EMCC before and live in Spain or Portugal or eastern Europe, there are a limited number of scholarships available on a first come, first served basis.  Email for an application form.
